Simon Vee, documentary photographer
Simon Vee (pseudonym for Simon Vreux, born 1987) is a Belgian-Dutch documentary photographer currently based in Southeast Asia.
Focusing on long-form documentary projects, his work acts as a bridge between the world’s rapidly shifting landscapes and human stories often overlooked by the mainstream lens. Drawn deeply to ancestral traditions and the hidden contours of subcultures, his imagery captures the enduring dignity of everyday life.
Background & Path
Though he did the entrance exam for Photography at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels at age 19, Simon ultimately chose the path of a self-taught photographer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic and web design and early on grounded his visual eye through a formative student tenure at Alice Gallery (Brussels), a leading destination for contemporary and street art
